Coats for kids

Coats for Kids will run from Oct. 15 – Dec 15 and it takes place every year.  We have drop locations at Kroger, Schnucks, and Locally Important (our store) we personally deliver the coats all throughout Southern Illinois to those who contact us in need.  We have went as far east as Harrisburg and as far south as Anna.  We ask for gently used coats throughout the season and we also take coats and hats and different winter gear. 


Mommy/Son – Daddy/Princess Dance

We are have a Mommy/Son – Daddy/Princess dance fundraiser event for A Gift of Love on Oct. 26th at Eagles in Carbondale from 5:30 – 8:30.  It is formal and dinner will be served.

Bake Sale

Bake Sale for A Gift of Love on Sept. 20th in front of Hobby Lobby.  A General fundraiser for the organization.


Literacy Program

The Literacy Program takes place everyday at the store and several other locations throughout the community. Teaching children how to read and giving books to children in the process.African Dance


African Drumming  

African Drumming takes place at Thomas Elementary School and is for all children during the lunch hour who would like to participate.  The children will learn the Djembe drum and will work on authentic African drumming rhythms using number counting methods and also will learn to read the music.  The session will be fun for the children while introducing them the arts.

African Dance

African Dance will teach the children the history of the dance and teach the children how to express theirself through dance.

Story Time

For this program we go to local daycares, schools, and after-school programs and read 3 books while incorporating music into the stores.  At each StoryTime we give a free book to each child. A Gift of Love Charity, Inc. has given away over 2000 books to children.

Read For Fun

For this program we teach children how to read, how to read for comprehension, and how to enjoy and gain a lifelong love of reading.  We teach children how to read using a phonics method.

Sting Ray Judo Program

This is a judo program for ages 4 – 18.  Judo teaches the art of judo while teaching basic falls and techniques.  While learning judo the children learn to respect not only themselves but other children and adults also.

Healthy Living and Growing Your Own Food Program

Mustard Seed Sowers Farm is our farm name and we have an urban farm in the community where anyone can come and grown their own food and learn how to grow their own food using sustainable practices.
