The East Market (Carbondale Commmunity Farmers Market) was Founded in May 2013.
This year-round market opens every Saturday at Carbondale Community High School,1301 East Walnut Street, Winter (indoors) 9 a.m.-12 p.m.; Summer (outdoors) 8 a.m. -12 p.m.
Carbondale Community Farmers Market products include sustainably produced local vegetables, meats and artisan goods.

SIUC Logic Program – Sustainable Farming
The Local Organic Gardening Initiative of Carbondale, LOGIC, has been a part of Southern Illinois University for 5 years and has offered fresh produce and a growing environment.
LOGIC’s goal is to produce food to be sold at the Carbondale farmers’ markets as well as SIU dining halls. Any food not sold is returned to the LOGIC farm to be composted.
LOGIC attends the Carbondale farmers’ markets weekly on Saturdays and also has two locations they sell produce on Campus.
