Sweitzer Farms: Growing on the Bright Side

Karl Sweitzer III holds cherry peppers and habanero peppers freshly picked from the crops surrounding him. At his farm in Cobden, Illinois Sweitzer grows a cast array of different kinds of peppers all in different degrees in hotness.
Habaneros, imn particular are rated amount the hottest peppers in the world which makes harvesting them quite difficult. Fortunatly, Sweitzer claims the peppers, ” don’t really bother (him)… because (his) hands have just kind of calloused up.” Sweitzer has owned and tended to the 30 acre farm for the past ten years and plans to continue to do so for the rest of his working life.
